Extensive route network and sustainability

This year United celebrates the 30th anniversary of flight connections between Germany and the U.S. What began with two connections is now a comprehensive route network with 16 daily flights to the United hubs in New York/Newark, Chicago, Washington-Dulles, San Francisco, Houston and Denver in summer 2020. At the U.S. hubs, United offers connections to more than 280 attractive destinations in North, Central and South America. The airline also always keeps the environment in mind: United has been a pioneer for years with its Eco Skies program to create a sustainable future. United was the first U.S. airline to commit to reducing its own greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2050 compared to 2005. This corresponds to a reduction of emissions resulted from 4.5 million vehicles per year. The efforts include the increased use of biofuels, the deployment of new fuel-efficient aircraft and further improvements in operations to make the airline even more fuel-efficient.
